Overview

Straddling the border between France and Spain, the Basque Country is a treasure trove of rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and unique traditions. With its majestic mountains tumbling down to the sparkling ocean, this region offers some of the most unforgettable sunsets you’ll ever experience. Along the way, you’ll encounter warm, welcoming locals who embrace a slower, more meaningful approach to life, making you feel right at home in this hidden gem.

The Basque Country is as rich in history as it is in beauty. Its distinct culture is rooted in the ancient Euskara language, one of the oldest living languages in Europe, still spoken by many today. The region’s vibrant architecture and traditions tell the story of a people proud of their heritage, while its culinary scene is nothing short of extraordinary.

Food is central to life here, and this 7-day tour immerses you in the flavours of the Basque Country. Visit lively local markets where you’ll sample an array of fresh, authentic products. Indulge in the iconic pintxos (Basque tapas) culture of San Sebastián, where every dish is a work of art.

On this journey, you’ll explore the historic town of Bayonne, the glamorous beaches of Biarritz, and the charming fishing ports of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Guéthary. Discover the colourful market of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, taste the famous Espelette peppers, and savour the unique wines of Irouléguy. Step back in time in Ainhoa, one of France’s most beautiful villages, and cross the border to Spain for a day in San Sebastián - where you’ll wander the picturesque fishing port and historical streets, dotted with a multitude of pintxos bars.

This is more than just a tour; it’s a deep dive into the heart of Basque culture, where nature, history, and gastronomy intertwine to create an unforgettable experience.
